I was expecting great things from this episode, as Neil Gaiman's previous work has been very good and this episode delivered. It was a delight for a fan of the classics like I am. The cloister bell tolling (well it sounded like that), The roundells from the classic Tardi (is that the plural of Tardis?), the psychic boxes last seen back in the war games. The removal of rooms for energy instantly sparked remembrance in my mind of Logopolis/Castrovalva. At the end the doctor offered to show Amy and Rory the eye of Orion reminded me of the five doctors.
The Story itself was intriguing with the Tardis being able to speak in Idris body. I will not go into to much detail as it may not have been viewed by all yet.
Before this season Moffat said a main character would die in the opening adventure, I believe they all died (or appeared to) however has Rory died in all adventures this series and is this the new crack? We also did not see Amy imagine the sliding hatch as in two other stories this year.
